essays from the Galapagos

Science writer and Darwinist Richard Dawkins has written a series of essays on one of my favourite places and eternal source of fascination, The Galapagos; the first of these found at The Guardian Unlimited, is called The giant tortoise's tale.

An interesting lecture by Dawkins found at Edge, Science, Delusion and the Appetite of Wonder. Not surprisingly, he doesn't have any kind words for astrology or the paranormal/esoteric epidemic, but I can certainly deal with that; he's always a good read and his essays are always thought-provoking and accessible to a broad audience. An avowed athiest, who is allergic to the notion of anything metaphysical, this particular lecture waxes reverently over the mystical to be found in science.
