the common bond ~ of hate: a religious fundamentalist virtue?
Thicker than blood
or water, stronger than compassion or reason, hatred is the bond between these three groups, the glue that holds together their very reason for being:

It just never ceases to amaze me how
God manages to be credited as the source of some of the most jingoistic, bigotted and utterly hateful ideology around... and so completely reflects the mindset of those who claim to be evangelizing his every word, thought and deed. If I didn't
know better I'd simply have to conclude that God is really some small minded testosterone-fueled,
fearful, to say nothing of being a hateful, little miscreant instead of an omnipresent, omnipotent, wise and limitlessly loving compassionate
father.
Funny thing though; the God they profess to know so well is as alien to me as the ideology they claim comes from the source. Because my relationship and understanding of God just does NOT match up with this vile and reprehensible portrayal of God at all. The God I've come to understand is much bigger than all of that; why do these people want to make God so unbelievably petty, so...
small, in the very worst sense of the word. The irony of all this, though, is how the so-called differences between these groups are completely overshadowed by how completely alike they are in the ways that matter the most.
Hmmm, wasn't it Jesus himself (Son of God to one group, and the greatest prophet who ever lived to the other) who said, "and by their fruits, ye shall know them."
Indeed we do. And some very strange, very rotten fruit it is...
