i don't have one
...an accent that is. That is what I've been telling hubby for years when he has teased me about sounding like a Hoosier. Though I am one (Indianapolis born)... but I DO NOT sound like it. :-p
When I saw the quiz

, I knew I had to take the test and prove it to hubby once and for all:
|What American accent do you have? |
Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Hubby btw, does have a small hint of an adorable accent, which I have long pointed out to him, and which may well be why he has insisted that I have one as well (though I clearly do not as indicated by my test results). His is only very slight but it shows up very big when he says: pin or pen (they both sound like "pin"). His family are from Arkansas and his pronunciation of those two words are pretty much the only hints of his southern heritage. It's just one of those lovely little treasures that makes him uniquely him and very comforting somehow.
