remembering snowflake

I have no idea why, really, but all day I've been remembering an old National Geographic cover I'd seen as a child; the one with the beautiful little albino gorilla named Snowflake gracing it.

I hadn't thought about Snowflake in years but for some reason he popped into my head today and wouldn't go away until I discovered his fate.

I'd really love to see this someday.
